This view uses the existing Organization panels. Your secure piSun session confirms the Organization type and each person’s authorized position and scope after sign-in.
Positions and organizational scope
President · Provost · Dean · Department chair · Registrar · Faculty / instructor · Researcher · Lab manager · Teaching assistant · Administrative staff · Human resources staff · Payroll staff · Security staff · Other employee
Students: enrollment and CampusID; academic and resource access remains separately authorized.
Optional scope: Campus · College · Department · Program · Course · Class · Lab.
Preparing a position does not appoint an official, record an election, grant payroll or academic authority, or authorize entry.
University / College / K–12 Academic Admin Panel
Academic Department, Course & Lab Access
Use the University, College or K–12 Admin Panel to delegate authority by department, course, class, program, laboratory, resource, and role. Students, faculty, teachers, staff, lab managers, and administrators receive only the access assigned within their scope.
Authority hierarchy
Admin Dashboard → Department / School / College / Program → Course / Class / Lab → Role → Person → Resource clearance. A department role does not automatically grant unrelated department access. Course enrollment does not automatically grant restricted lab, device, records, grading, or administrative access.
1 · STRUCTURE
Departments & Units
Create and organize departments, colleges, schools, divisions, campuses, programs, courses, classes, labs, teams, and offices under the institution's Admin Dashboard.
Examples: Chemistry Department · School of Engineering · Grade 8 Science · CHEM-201 · Computer Lab A
2 · DELEGATION
Roles & Scope
Assign department admins, faculty, teachers, instructors, TAs, staff, researchers, lab managers, resource managers, employees, and students to a defined unit.
A Chemistry lab manager does not become Registrar administration. A classroom teacher does not become District administration.
3 · CLEARANCE
People & Resources
Authorize specific people for websites, rooms, labs, devices, applications, documents, course resources, grading functions, and other endpoints within the unit they belong to.
Restricted physical or digital resources still require explicit clearance when policy requires it.
DEPARTMENT PANEL
Department / school / program authority
The dashboard exposes each unit, its delegated administrator, and the resources inside that scope while PSOP keeps the underlying authority records separated and enforceable.

ROLE PANEL
Independent role assignments
One Patron can have multiple Organization roles, each tied to its own scope. The same person can be faculty in one department, a researcher in one lab, and a student in another program without those permissions blending together.

LAB PANEL
Lab-specific clearance
A student enrolled in a course may still need separate authorization for a particular laboratory, equipment set, workstation, document collection, or physical location.
Example: CHEM-201 enrollment can permit assignments and course documents while LAB-003 remains unchecked until that student is individually cleared.
Authorized teachers, instructors, faculty, course administrators, and academic administrators may issue grades only within their assigned course or class scope. A submitted grade remains provisional until the Student Patron accepts it. The original submitter may revise a grade while it is still awaiting acceptance, but cannot silently alter it after acceptance.
Submit Provisional Grade
Creates a grade in Pending Student Acceptance. It is not yet permanent on the Student account.
Revise Before Acceptance
Only the original submitter, still holding the applicable course/class authority, may revise the pending grade.
Review Challenge
A challenged grade is frozen from permanent posting until an authorized academic reviewer resolves the challenge.
Return for Acceptance
Any resolved challenge or corrected grade returns to the student for a fresh individual acceptance.

Eligible for authorized permanent posting
Hard boundary: accepting a grade does not give the desktop renderer or ordinary instructor UI permission to write directly into the permanent Student account. Permanent posting remains a separate PSOP-authorized persistence action after the accepted state is verified.
STUDENT ACCESS PANEL
Student coursework & Vault-facing access
A student's academic panel is generated from active course/class relationships and explicit resource clearance. The student does not administer the University Admin Dashboard or School Admin Dashboard. They see only the academic resources the School or University has authorized for them.
My Courses
Current courses/classes and the resources enabled for each.
Download Homework
Retrieve assignment documents specifically published to the student's course/class. A full Patron Vault copy requires the Patron to Accept Document.
Upload Homework
Submit coursework to the authorized Organization Vault destination under the student's Patron identity and scoped reviewer path.
Grades Awaiting Review
Each provisional grade is individually accepted or challenged by the Student Patron before permanent posting.
Student Vault
Surface authorized school resources without turning the School or University into owner of the Patron Vault.
My Lab Access
Show explicitly cleared laboratories, devices, and locations by familiar name and ID.
Backend rule
These panels are controlled views over PSOP's underlying institution authority records. Department, role, course, class, lab, person, resource, payment, endpoint, grade, challenge, and clearance records remain separately scoped underneath. The UI must never turn a convenient checkmark, grade field, or dashboard button into authority the underlying PSOP record does not actually grant.
